BJP Foundation Day: Prime Minister Narendra Modi marked the Sthapana Diwas of BJP4 by extending heartfelt greetings to party workers across India. In his message, he expressed reverence for the dedication, struggles, and sacrifices of the individuals who laid the foundation of the Bharatiya Janata Party over the years.
Highlighting the party’s ethos, PM Modi affirmed BJP’s status as India’s preferred political entity, emphasizing its unwavering commitment to the motto of ‘Nation First.’ He lauded the BJP’s legacy of serving the country with dedication and integrity.
The Bharatiya Janata Party, commonly known as BJP, stands as one of India’s major political forces alongside the Indian National Congress. Since the 2014 Indian elections, BJP has held a significant majority in the Lok Sabha, the lower house of Parliament, with 303 out of 542 seats. In the Rajya Sabha, the upper house, BJP holds 78 out of 238 seats. Amit Shah has served as the national president of BJP since 2014.
Founded in April 1980 by former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy Prime Minister L. K. Advani, the party’s name, Bharatiya Janata, translates to ‘Indian People.’ The BJP’s political ideology aligns closely with the principles of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
As BJP celebrates its foundation day, PM Modi’s message resonates with the spirit of unity, dedication, and service ingrained within the party’s ethos. It serves as a reminder of the BJP’s enduring commitment to upholding the interests of the nation and its citizens above all else.
