The blockbuster multi-starrer film of the 90s, “Border,” is gearing up for its highly anticipated sequel. Sunny Deol is set to reprise his role as Major Kuldip Singh Chanduri, while Ayushmann Khurrana joins the cast in a significant role.

“Border 2” is slated to hit theaters on Friday, January 23, 2026, coinciding with Republic Day on Monday, January 26, 2026. The film aims to celebrate the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, making Republic Day the perfect occasion for its release.
The makers of “Border 2” are committed to honoring the legacy of the original film. With a storyline that pays homage to the valor of the Indian Armed Forces, the sequel promises to be a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice.
About the Original Film
Directed by JP Dutta and released in 1997, the original “Border” depicted the events of the Battle of Longewala during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Starring an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and more, the film emerged as a massive box office success, earning the status of an all-time blockbuster.
