This week’s new release Dobaaraa was a poor fare, only collecting 65-75 lakhs. Although these types of films have little chance at the box office, they are being released due to the demands of OTT platforms. These platforms generally don’t want direct releases, unless it’s a big star or banner with a good relationship.
This 65 lakh plus number for Dobaaraa is pretty much par for the course for the film which holds very little appeal, considering the sort of initials taken by Laal Singh Chaddha and Dobaaraa. It has collected more than Shabaash Mithu, which collected 40 lakhs nett on its first day.
