In his latest film, Ayushmann Khurrana plays a doctor. Shefali Shah and Rakul Preet Singh also star in the campus comedy Doctor G, which opened to mixed reviews from viewers.
The film collected a total of Rs 15.03 crore in its first weekend, but saw a major drop of around 60 percent on Monday. The film has seen no audience in the mass circuits, while the metro cities have been able to draw in viewers. The major reason Doctor G will have a hard time at the ticket window.
Ayushmann’s previous two theatrical releases didn’t do as well as the Junglee Pictures production. Anubhav Sinha’s political thriller Anek earned Rs 1.75 crore on its opening day, while Abhishek Kapoor’s romantic comedy Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui opened at Rs 1.78 crore.
