Doctor G, a campus comedy-drama starring Ayushmann Khurrana, was released on Friday, October 14. Shefali Shah and Rakul Preet Singh star as his fellow doctors while Ayushmann plays the role of a gynaecologist in Doctor G. Many fans had high expectations for the unique concept. Doctor G has not impressed the audience. Its box office numbers have been decreasing each day.
“Uday Gupta (Ayushmann Khurrana) is the only male student in the Gynaecology department.” His reluctance to participate leads to chaos and confusion among his classmates, but eventually he forms great camaraderie with them.
The critics and the audience gave Doctor G mixed reviews when it hit the theatres on October 14. Despite its positive reviews, the film failed to bring in enough viewers to be successful. Doctor G earned approximately Rs 15 crore in its opening weekend.
The film’s collections dropped considerably on Tuesday, October 18. Doctor G reportedly made Rs 1.65 crore on Day 5, according to early trade reports. So the total box office collection is now Rs 18.32 crore. The film could soon be wiped out from the theatres at this rate.
