“Doctor G”, the campus drama starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh, ended its 1st week at the box office with a collection of Rs. 19 crore nett. Other post-pandemic releases had worse results than the film did over the weekend. It also managed to hold its place at the box office.
It is expected that the Bollywood film will rake in better numbers over its second weekend, and even beat the collections earned by Ayushmann’s ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’ which collected around Rs 22 crore nett.
The censor board awarded ‘Doctor G’ an ‘A’ certificate. Ayushmann portrays an aspiring orthopaedic surgeon who instead gets into studying gynaecology in the film. As the only man in a department dominated by women, he struggles to fit in and finds the situation humorous.
