The Indian box office witnessed an exciting showdown on January 9th between two of Bollywood’s biggest stars – Prabhas with ‘Salaar’ and Shah Rukh Khan with ‘Dunki’. Both films drew massive crowds, showcasing the enduring star power of these celebrated actors.
‘Salaar’ Dominates Ticket Sales:
Prabhas’ action-packed film ‘Salaar’ led the race, selling an impressive 2,32,349 tickets across 5680 shows, achieving an occupancy rate of 16.2%. The film’s performance was particularly strong in national chains such as PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, where it collectively grossed ₹0.55 crore. Overall, ‘Salaar’ raked in a total of ₹2.83 crore across all theatres, marking a successful opening.

‘Dunki’ Puts Up a Strong Fight:
Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’, though trailing behind ‘Salaar’, still put up a notable performance. The film sold 89,964 tickets from 4182 shows, with a 9.43% occupancy rate. ‘Dunki’ showed strong sales in national chains, grossing a total of ₹0.58 crore. The overall collection for ‘Dunki’ stood at ₹1.28 crore in all theatres.
