- Jill Morris has officially started her tour as the British Ambassador to Turkey, taking over from Sir Dominick Chilcott, who completed his term in August 2019.

The new British Ambassador to Turkey, Jill Morris CMG, has officially begun her tour in Turkey. Morris has taken over from Sir Dominick Chilcott, who served as the UK Ambassador to Turkey from 2016 to 2019.
As a seasoned diplomat with over 30 years of experience, Morris has held several important posts within the UK government. Before her appointment as the UK Ambassador to Turkey, she served as the Director of Security at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
In her new role as the UK Ambassador to Turkey, Morris will work to strengthen the relationship between the UK and Turkey, which is a crucial ally for the UK in the region. The two countries have a long-standing history of cooperation in areas such as defense, trade, and culture.
In her statement, Morris highlighted the importance of the UK-Turkey partnership and expressed her enthusiasm to work with Turkish authorities and communities to deepen the ties between the two countries. She also stressed the UK’s commitment to supporting Turkey’s EU accession process and its efforts to maintain regional stability and security.
