Estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA G Lasya Nanditha met a tragic end in a road accident on Friday morning in Telangana’s Sangareddy district. The incident occurred on the Outer Ring Road, where her car driver lost control, crashing into a metal barrier, resulting in Nanditha’s untimely demise.

Born in 1986 in Hyderabad, Lasya Nanditha ventured into politics a decade ago, following in the footsteps of her father, the late G Sayanna, also a prominent BRS figure. Despite her relatively short political career, Nanditha had made significant strides, serving as a Greater Hyderabad Municipal corporator since 2016.

In the 2023 Telangana assembly elections, Nanditha secured victory from the Secunderabad Cantonment constituency, succeeding her father after his passing in February the previous year. Her dedication to public service and leadership qualities were evident in her triumph over BJP’s Ganesh N by a margin of 17,169 votes.

The sudden and tragic loss of Nanditha has left the political fraternity and her constituents in shock. KT Rama Rao, Senior BRS leader and working President of the party, mourned her passing, describing her as a promising leader whose potential was cut short. He extended heartfelt condolences to her family and friends during this difficult time.

The untimely demise of G Lasya Nanditha marks a profound loss for the BRS and the political landscape of Telangana, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service that will be remembered by all who knew her.
