Bollywood’s beloved actor Akshay Kumar marked the 16th anniversary of the much-loved film ‘Welcome’ by sharing his excitement for the ongoing shooting of the third installment in the franchise, titled “Welcome to the Jungle.”
The original film, ‘Welcome,’ released in 2007, was a massive hit, featuring Akshay Kumar alongside Katrina Kaif, Nana Patekar, and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles. The success of ‘Welcome’ led to the creation of ‘Welcome 2,’ where John Abraham stepped into the lead role. Now, the anticipation is building as Akshay Kumar returns for ‘Welcome to the Jungle.’
In a recent post, Akshay Kumar shared a clip from the set of “Welcome to the Jungle” and expressed his happiness about the film’s progress, coinciding with the 16th anniversary of ‘Welcome.’ The actor also welcomed Sanjay Dutt to the third part of the franchise, adding an extra layer of excitement for fans.
The first film in the ‘Welcome’ franchise received immense love from the audience and emerged as a box-office success. The songs from the film continue to be popular even after 16 years. Notable actors like Firoz Khan, Paresh Rawal, and Mallika Sherawat contributed to the success of ‘Welcome.’
As for “Welcome to the Jungle,” the film is currently in the shooting phase, boasting an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Raveena Tandon, Jacqueline Fernandez, Disha Patani, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Lara Dutta, and Arshad Warsi. Scheduled for a late December 2024 release, fans are eagerly anticipating the return of the ‘Welcome’ franchise to the big screen.
