One of the crown jewels in Balaji Telefilms’ portfolio has undoubtedly been the iconic show, ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay.’ This unforgettable series struck a chord with audiences and left an indelible mark in the world of Indian television. The lead characters, Prerna, Anurag, and Rishabh Bajaj, became household names, and their tumultuous love story garnered immense love and admiration from viewers.
The show’s narrative beautifully portrays the tragic love story between Prerna and Anurag, deeply in love yet plagued by relentless obstacles imposed by fate.
When Anurag leaves her, a desolate Prerna finds herself alone and embroiled in turmoil. It’s at this juncture that Mr. Bajaj, a man of noble character, steps forward to marry Prerna during her time of need. He not only lends his name to Prerna and Anurag’s child but also selflessly supports her. In an unexpected twist, Mr. Bajaj eventually falls in love with Prerna, adding further layers of complexity to the storyline.
As ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ celebrates its 22nd anniversary on October 29, 2023, Ronit Roy, who portrayed the iconic character of Mr. Bajaj in the show, shared his thoughts on this special occasion. Taking to Instagram, he posted a snapshot from the show and expressed, “22 years of Kasauti Zindagi Kay. A show that reshaped my career and life. I express my gratitude to my fans for their unwavering love & support. I thank the entire cast & crew of KZK. Thank you Ekta Kapoor for making me the iconic Mr. Bajaj.” In response, Ektaa Kapoor, the acclaimed producer of the show, sent her regards with a heartfelt, “Hugs !!!.”
About ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’:
‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ was a love story intricately woven against the backdrop of Bengali culture. The series featured a talented ensemble cast including Shweta Tiwari, Cezzane Khan, Karanvir Bohra, Karan Singh Grover, Surveen Chawla, and Jennifer Winget, among others. The show’s popularity was so immense that it was remade with the same title in 2018. Erica Fernandes took on the role of Prerna, while Parth Samthaan portrayed Anurag Basu. Initially, Karan Singh Grover was cast as Mr. Bajaj, but after his departure from the show, Karan Patel stepped into his shoes. Hina Khan portrayed the iconic character of Komolika until her exit, at which point Amna Sharif took on the role with equal finesse.
As the series turns 22, it stands as a testament to the timeless appeal of classic love stories and the enduring power of iconic characters that have left an indelible mark on the hearts of viewers. ‘Kasauti Zindagi Kay’ will forever be celebrated as a cherished part of the Indian television landscape.
