The Central Water Commission (CWC) has sounded a dire warning as the Kosi River, in the Birpur area of Supaul district, Bihar, continues to surge at an alarming rate. The river, which has been a historical source of concern for flooding in the region, is now in a severe situation, surpassing its danger level. As of the latest report, the Kosi River at Birpur is flowing at a level of 74.77 meters, a significant 0.07 meters above its danger level of 74.7 meters.
