Actress Charu Asopa, known for her roles in popular television shows, recently shared a fun and nostalgic video where she recreated Sushmita Sen’s iconic song, “Chunari Chunari.”
Charu Asopa made headlines earlier this year due to her divorce from Rajeev Sen, the brother of Bollywood star Sushmita Sen. Despite parting ways, Charu and Rajeev maintain a cordial relationship, primarily for the sake of their daughter, Ziana.
A Playful Video
In the video shared by Charu, she can be seen dancing to Sushmita Sen’s hit song ‘Chunari Chunari’ wearing a black sequin saree. Actor Gaurav Raj Puri also joins him and mimics Salman Khan’s movements in the original song. However, the dance takes an unexpected turn when a sequin from Charu’s saree accidentally hits Gourav in the eye. The lighthearted performance stops as they attend to Gourav, and the video ends with laughter all around.
Sushmita Sen’s Reaction
Charu’s video caught the attention of her former sister-in-law, Sushmita Sen, who responded with a few emojis in the comments section. This interaction reflects the amicable relationship between Charu and Sushmita.
A Nostalgic Recreation
The iconic song “Chunari Chunari” is from the 1999 film “Biwi No. 1,” directed by David Dhawan. The song originally features Sushmita Sen and Salman Khan in a lively dance number. “Biwi No. 1” was a hit comedy-drama from the late 90s, and Charu’s recreation pays a fun homage to this memorable Bollywood classic.
