President Droupadi Murmu conferred the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian honor, upon South India’s megastar, Chiranjeevi, in a grand ceremony held at the Thrown Room, or Darbar Hall, in Delhi on May 9, 2024. The theater erupted in applause as the actor graciously accepted the prestigious award.

Accompanying Chiranjeevi were his wife Surekha, son and actor Ram Charan, and daughter-in-law Upasana Konidela, who provided unwavering support during the momentous occasion.

With a remarkable career spanning over four decades, Chiranjeevi has left an indelible mark in the film industry, starring in over 150 films across five languages. Additionally, he has contributed to the nation’s welfare as a Former Union Minister.

Expressing his gratitude, Chiranjeevi took to Twitter, extending heartfelt thanks to all who supported him throughout his artistic journey. He expressed his appreciation to the central government for bestowing upon him the Padma Vibhushan and conveyed his respects to those who congratulated him on this significant achievement.
