The city ‘s principal landmarks include the Charminar – a 16th-century mosque and a monument to Sultan Mohammed Quli Qutb Shah, who founded Hyderabad. Other interesting attractions include the Birla Mandir, a Hindu temple built by B.D. Birla and known for its dazzling architecture; the Chowmahalla Palace, built by the sixth Nizam and a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the Salar Jung Museum, which houses a collection of paintings and artifacts from the 18th and 19th centuries; and Golconda Fort, one of the largest forts in the world. The city has a number of shopping areas, including Laad Bazaar and Moazzam Jahi Market. The nearby towns of Secunderabad and Warangal are also worth exploring.

Chowmahalla Palace is located in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh which was once the capital of Hyderabad State. It is spread over an area of 44 acres and includes many buildings like Mughal tent, Egyptian dome, Persian wall and European castle. The palace can be visited on all days except Mondays and Tuesdays between 9am and 5pm. The ticket price is Rs 30 for Indians and Rs 250 for foreigners.

The Chowmahalla Palace was designed by Robert Fellowes in the late 19th century and is a stunning mix of British and Mughal architecture. It has been described as one of the most important heritage buildings in India because it played a role in Indian independence. The palace housed many servants from the Mughal era, including the last Mughal emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar II.
Facts about Chowmahalla Palace
Chowmahalla Palace was built by the fifth Nizam of Hyderabad, Mir Mahbub Ali Khan, who ruled from 1911 to 1948. The palace is surrounded by a man-made lake and has an elegant blend of Mughal and European architecture. It also houses rare collections of weapons, paintings, antiques, and jewelry.
– Chowmahalla Palace is spread across around 54 acres of land. The palace has two entrances each from the east and west. The palace consists of around 300 rooms with marble flooring, intricate woodcarvings, and ornamental plasterwork .
The palace also has a number of man-made underground tunnels, which are believed to lead to Charmin ar , the Hyderabadi landmark.
The palace is built in the Indo-Persian style and has a striking blend of Hindu, Islamic , and Mughal influences.
The palace is home to the famed diamond studded Peacock Throne, which is said to have been built by Lord Aurangzeb in 1650.
