The UK’s Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has reclassified Cialis Together tablets from prescription-only to pharmacy medicine. This means that men suffering from erectile dysfunction can now purchase the medication without a prescription, after a consultation with a pharmacist.
Cialis Together is a combination of two active ingredients, tadalafil, and dapoxetine. Tadalafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction, while dapoxetine is used to treat premature ejaculation. The medication is taken orally and helps to increase blood flow to the penis, resulting in improved erections and better sexual performance.
Previously, Cialis Together tablets were only available with a prescription from a doctor. However, the reclassification means that men can now purchase the medication from a registered pharmacy after a consultation with a pharmacist. This move is aimed at increasing access to medication for men who may not feel comfortable seeing their doctor for a prescription.
The reclassification of Cialis Together tablets follows a public consultation by the MHRA, which received overwhelming support from stakeholders. The MHRA stated that the move will “improve patient access to effective treatment and will help to reduce the burden on GPs and the wider NHS.”
While the reclassification of Cialis Together tablets as a pharmacy medicine will make it easier for men to access the medication, it is important to note that the medication is not suitable for everyone. Men with certain health conditions or taking certain medications should not take Cialis Together tablets, and a consultation with a pharmacist is necessary to determine if the medication is safe and appropriate for them.
