CISF Raising Day 2024: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu extends heartfelt greetings to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on the occasion of CISF Raising Day, acknowledging their invaluable contributions to national security.

In a statement, CM Pema Khandu expressed deep admiration for the CISF personnel’s unwavering dedication and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s vital infrastructure and assets. He conveyed gratitude for their service and sacrifices, highlighting the pivotal role they play in ensuring the safety and security of the country.

Established under an act of Parliament on March 10, 1969, with an initial strength of approximately 2,800 personnel, CISF was originally tasked with protecting industrial undertakings solely owned by the central government. Over the years, CISF’s mandate has expanded to include safeguarding airports, seaports, metro rail networks, government buildings, heritage monuments such as the Taj Mahal and Red Fort, as well as nuclear power plants and space installations.

CM Pema Khandu noted the significant diversification of CISF’s role, encompassing VIP security and disaster management, in addition to its traditional duties. He emphasized CISF’s versatility in undertaking responsibilities concerning internal security, elections, anti-Naxal operations, and any other tasks assigned by the Government of India.

As CISF commemorates its Raising Day, CM Pema Khandu urged citizens to recognize and appreciate the tireless efforts of CISF personnel in safeguarding the nation’s integrity and sovereignty. He reiterated the government’s commitment to supporting and strengthening the CISF in its mission to protect and serve the nation.
