On the 11th of March, Shri Conrad Kongkal Sangma, the CM of Meghalaya, along with Shri Prestone Tynsong, the Deputy Chief Minister, visited Rashtrapati Bhavan to meet with President Droupadi Murmu. The meeting focused on various issues related to the development of Meghalaya and the state’s progress.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister briefed the President on the progress made by the Meghalaya government in various areas such as infrastructure development, education, healthcare, and tourism. They also highlighted the unique challenges faced by the state, including the impact of climate change on the region’s agriculture and horticulture sectors.
President Droupadi Murmu appreciated the efforts made by the Meghalaya government to improve the standard of living for the people of the state. She encouraged the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister to continue working towards the development of Meghalaya and emphasized the importance of preserving the state’s rich cultural heritage.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister discussed the need for more investment in infrastructure development, particularly in areas such as road connectivity and power generation. They also discussed the potential for promoting tourism in the state and the need to balance development with environmental conservation.
The Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister expressed their gratitude to the President for her valuable insights and guidance. They reiterated their commitment to the development of Meghalaya and assured the President that the Meghalaya government will work towards achieving sustainable development in the state.
The President appreciated the Chief Minister and the Deputy Chief Minister’s efforts and urged them to continue working toward the welfare of the people of Meghalaya. She also wished them success in all their future endeavors.
