Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Biswa, of Assam, conveyed heartfelt wishes to the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Eknath Shinde ji, on the occasion of his birthday. He lauded Shinde’s journey from humble beginnings and commended his efforts in propelling Maharashtra towards greater heights of progress.
“A leader who has risen from humble origins, he is steering Maharashtra to newer heights of progress,” stated CM Himanta Biswa, acknowledging Shinde’s dedication and leadership.
Additionally, CM Biswa extended prayers to Maa Kamakhya and Srimanta Sankardev for Eknath Shinde’s long and healthy life, underlining the significance of spiritual well-being alongside political leadership.
Eknath Sambhaji Shinde, born on February 9, 1964, has been a pivotal figure in Indian politics, currently serving as the 20th and incumbent Chief Minister of Maharashtra since June 30, 2022. He holds significant roles including the Leader of Shiv Sena since February 2023 and the Leader of the House in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly since July 2022. Representing the Kopri-Pachpakhadi constituency of Thane, Maharashtra, Shinde has been a Member of the Legislative Assembly since 2009, previously serving as MLA for the Thane constituency from 2004 to 2009.
Early Life
Hailing from the Dare Village in Jawali taluka, Satara, Maharashtra, Eknath Shinde belongs to the Maratha community. His family later relocated to Thane, on the outskirts of Mumbai, where he pursued his education up to the 11th standard at Mangala High School & Junior College. Despite leaving school to support his family, Shinde resumed his education in 2014 upon joining the government ministry. He successfully graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University in 2020.
Eknath Shinde’s contributions and accomplishments were further recognized when he was conferred with a D.Litt. (Doctor of Literature) by D Y Patil University during its convocation in Navi Mumbai on March 28, 2023. Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais and University Chancellor Dr. Vijay Patil bestowed this honor upon him, acknowledging his significant role in public service and governance.
In extending his birthday wishes, CM Himanta Biswa has not only recognized Eknath Shinde’s political leadership but also his journey, resilience, and commitment to serving the people of Maharashtra. As Shinde continues to lead the state toward progress and prosperity, the warm wishes and prayers from fellow leaders like CM Biswa serve as a testament to the unity and camaraderie within India’s political landscape.
