West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is deeply saddened by the loss of her former colleague and esteemed political figure, Ashok Shaw, who served as the Mayor of Chandernagore Municipal Corporation and MLA.
Expressing her grief, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remembers Ashok Shaw as a dedicated nationalist and a fierce political fighter. She acknowledges his valuable contributions to democratic politics and regards his departure as an irreparable loss.
Ashok Shaw, aged 75, passed away after battling illness for an extended period. He was admitted to a private hospital in Chandannagar after falling critically ill early Wednesday morning, where he breathed his last.
As news of Shaw’s demise spread, tributes poured in from across the political spectrum. Trinamool leader Mamata Banerjee, in particular, expressed her heartfelt condolences to Shaw’s bereaved family, friends, and followers. She mourns the loss of a stalwart leader and emphasizes Shaw’s significant role in shaping the political landscape of Chandannagar.
The passing of Ashok Shaw marks the end of an era in Chandernagore’s political history. His legacy as a nationalist leader and an ardent advocate for the people will continue to inspire future generations of politicians and leaders in West Bengal.
