Addressing the gathering on the ‘International Day of Disabled Persons,’ CM Yogi Adityanath proudly announced that Uttar Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone by establishing not one but two universities dedicated to disabled individuals.
Substantial Allocation under the Divyang Pension Scheme
Highlighting the state’s commitment, CM Yogi Adityanath revealed that the present budget under the Divyang Pension Scheme stands at a substantial ₹1,120 crore. This marks a noteworthy increase from the previous pension amount of ₹300 per month for disabled individuals.
Empowering 10 Lakh Disabled Individuals
Underlining the government’s proactive approach, CM Yogi Adityanath informed that nearly 10 lakh disabled people in the state are currently benefitting from the enhanced pension facility, now set at ₹1,000 per month. This initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to improving the lives of disabled citizens.
‘Divyang’ – An Honorable Term
CM Yogi Adityanath acknowledged the term ‘Divyang,’ coined by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, as an honorable designation. The word itself stands as a mark of respect for the strength and resilience exhibited by individuals facing disabilities.
