On the 21st of January CM Yogi extends warm greetings and best wishes to all the devotees and residents of the state on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya, the auspicious festival of public faith.
Yogi said, “With the grace of Lord Bhaskar and the Purifier Mother Ganga, positivity should spread throughout the world, and everyone’s life should be full of happiness, peace, and prosperity, this is my prayer”.
The new moon day of Magha month is called Mauni Amavasya. This is a Mahavrat based on yoga. According to beliefs, the deities reside in the holy Sangam on this day, so bathing in the Ganges has special significance on this day. This month has also been called a virtuous month like Kartik. For this reason, devotees bathe and meditate in the Ganges by making a hut on the banks of the Ganges for a month.
