On the 3rd of March On the occasion of the death anniversary of ‘Padma Bhushan’ Raghupati Sahay, popularly known as Firak Gorakhpuri, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid tribute to the legendary litterateur. The Chief Minister expressed his deepest condolences and acknowledged the contribution of Firak Gorakhpuri to the literary world.
Firak Gorakhpuri was a prominent Urdu poet, writer, and critic who was born in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh in 1896. His literary works have left a significant impact on the Urdu language and literature. He received the prestigious Padma Bhushan award in 1968 for his contribution to Urdu literature.
CM Yogi expressed his gratitude towards Firak Gorakhpuri for his outstanding contribution to literature. He stated that Firak Gorakhpuri’s classic works are a unique heritage for the literary world. He further added that Firak Gorakhpuri was not only a great poet but also a social reformer who used his pen to bring about change in society.
Firak Gorakhpuri’s literary works are a reflection of his deep understanding of the human psyche and his observation of the society around him. His poems and prose are marked by a strong sense of social awareness and a desire for social reform. He was an ardent believer in the power of literature to bring about change in society.
CM Yogi also highlighted the importance of preserving the rich literary heritage of Uttar Pradesh. He emphasized the need to promote Urdu literature and ensure that the younger generation is exposed to the works of great litterateurs like Firak Gorakhpuri. He stated that the state government is committed to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Uttar Pradesh.
CM Yogi paid his respects to Firak Gorakhpuri on his death anniversary and acknowledged his contribution to the literary world. He urged the people of Uttar Pradesh to continue to cherish the rich literary heritage of the state and ensure that it is passed on to future generations. Firak Gorakhpuri’s classic works will continue to inspire generations to come, and his legacy will live on through his literary works.
