On 5h of January CM Yogi pays A humble tribute to the popular public leader, conductor of good governance, pioneer of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir movement, former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, ‘Padma Vibhushan’ revered Kalyan Singh ‘Babuji’ on his birth anniversary.

Know About Kalyan Singh:-

Kalyan Singh, who was born on 5 January 1932 and died on 21 August 2021, was an Indian politician and a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh twice and as a Member of Parliament.

During the demolition of the Babri Masjid in December 1992, he was the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He was considered an icon of Hindu nationalism for his agitation to build a Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Singh joined the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh while still in school. In 1967, he became a Member of the Legislative Assembly for Atrauli by entering the Uttar Pradesh legislature. He won nine more elections to that constituency as a member of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the BJP, the Janata Party, and the Rashtriya Kranti Party in succession.

Singh was appointed Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for the first time in 1991 but resigned after the demolition of the Babri Masjid. He became Chief Minister for a second term in 1997, but his party removed him in 1999, and he left the BJP, forming his own party.
