CSIR-NPL Hosts MAPIKI 2025 to Advance Metrology

The two-day MAPIKI 2025 conference brought together experts to discuss innovations, challenges, and the future of metrology, aiming to strengthen India’s measurement standards and contribute to socio-economic growth.

The CSIR–National Physical Laboratory (CSIR-NPL), New Delhi, hosted the two-day National Conference MAPIKI 2025 on 11–12 August 2025 under the theme Measurements for All Times, for All People. The conference brought together stakeholders to explore advancements, innovations, and challenges in metrology, aiming to strengthen India’s metrological traceability chain and drive the nation’s economic and social growth.

A flyer highlighting the Calibration and Testing activities of CSIR-NPL’s Physico-Mechanical Metrology Division was unveiled during the conference, in the presence of Chief Guest Dr. Nagahanumaiah, Director of the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI), Bengaluru, and Guest of Honour Dr. S. D. Attri, Member (Technical) of the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and adjoining areas.

Nearly 150 participants contributed through lectures on a wide range of metrology topics. The dynamic poster session showcased 44 entries from research scholars, associates, scientists, technical officers, and Ph.D. students. Awards for the best posters recognized the outstanding quality of work and reflected the enthusiastic participation throughout the event.

CSIR-NPL transferred its innovative technology, Recycling Metal/Polymer Laminate-based MLPs for Recovery of Materials for Technological Applications, to industry, highlighting its dedication to advancing innovation and promoting sustainability.

In the valedictory session, Prof. Venugopal Achanta, Director, CSIR-NPL, emphasized metrology’s critical role in socio-economic progress, calling on scientists to develop indigenous national measurement standards to bolster India’s technological independence.
