Daggubati Venkatesh was born on December 13, 1960, to a Telugu family in Madras (present-day Chennai), India. His father, D. Ramanaidu, was a film producer and former Member of Parliament, and his mother was Rajeshwari. He has an older brother Suresh Babu, who runs Suresh Productions, and a younger sister Lakshmi.
Daggubati Venkatesh attended Don Bosco School in Egmore, Chennai and graduated with a commerce degree from Loyola College, Chennai. He received his MBA from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey in the United States. He originally wanted to get into film production after returning to India, but instead became an Indian actor in Telugu cinema.
