Devendra Fadnavis, a prominent political figure and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra, delivered a compelling address at the ‘IT Conclave 2023’ hosted by CII Vidarbha. The event was graced by esteemed attendees, including Hon’ble Union Minister Nitin Gadkari ji, CII officials, industry leaders, and dignitaries.
Fadnavis applauded the initiative of CII Vidarbha in organizing the impactful business conference in Nagpur, stating that the city’s identity has evolved beyond being recognized solely as a tiger capital or the Orange City. He emphasized that Nagpur has cemented its status as an education hub, boasting numerous nationally acclaimed educational institutions that produce exceptional human resources.
Drawing attention to Nagpur’s transformation, Fadnavis proudly proclaimed that the city has gained recognition as an ‘Affordable Global City’. The remarkable international-standard infrastructure, coupled with world-class amenities, places Nagpur on the global map as an attractive destination for business, education, and innovation.
Fadnavis highlighted significant developments that further enhance Nagpur’s appeal. The upcoming second international airport, equipped with two runways and advanced facilities, underscores the city’s commitment to exceptional air connectivity. The Mumbai Nagpur Samruddhi expressway, along with Nagpur’s strategic location, positions the city as a thriving logistic hub.
Expressing the broader vision of India’s economic growth, Fadnavis shared the government’s aim of elevating Maharashtra into a trillion-dollar economy, a crucial step in realizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a 5 trillion-dollar economy.
Fadnavis commended India’s technological advancements, particularly in the realm of information technology. Maharashtra’s prominence in data centers and its aspirations to become the AI capital demonstrate the state’s commitment to shaping the digital landscape. The burgeoning start-up and unicorn ecosystem further highlight Maharashtra’s dynamic IT sector.
Fadnavis pledged unwavering support to CII and the IT sector, affirming that Maharashtra is ready to contribute significantly to their growth. He underscored Nagpur’s appeal as an ideal destination for the IT industry, offering both affordability and luxury.
