DPIIT Evaluates Progress Of Social Sector Ministries In Adopting PM GatiShakti National Master Plan.

Special Secretary (Logistics) of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Smt. Sumita Dawra recently chaired a meeting to review the progress made by social sector Ministries/Departments in adopting PM GatiShakti NMP in New Delhi. The meeting was attended by 35 senior officials from 14 different Ministries and Departments.

PM GatiShakti NMP is a transformative and sustainable approach aimed at transforming India’s infrastructural landscape through integrated planning and synchronized project implementation across the government. The adoption of PM GatiShakti NMP by the social sector Ministries/Departments is necessary for better decision-making and holistic development across the country.

The Special Secretary emphasized the importance of adopting PM GatiShakti NMP and its transformative role in integrated planning and synchronized implementation of infrastructure and social sector projects/schemes. The meeting also discussed case studies and best practices from states, such as the integration of the Pahunch portal for planning schools in Uttar Pradesh and the optimization of the planning of Anganwadi in Gujarat.

The progress made by the social sector Ministries/Departments was well-appreciated and they were motivated to engage with states and aspirational districts to facilitate wider adoption of PM GatiShakti NMP. During the Union Budget announcement 2023, two of the 7 priorities discussed focused on inclusive development and last-mile connectivity, and the usage of planning and decision-making tools is mentioned for the Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

The meeting saw fruitful deliberations from all participants and was focused on the progress made, the number of data layers integrated, the development of planning and decision-making tools, and challenges faced by the social sector Ministries/Departments.
