Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya: Jan Aushadhi Kendras Save Public over Rs 23,000 Crore in 9 Years

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya recently highlighted the remarkable impact of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in India, stating that they have saved the public an astounding amount of over Rs 23,000 crore in the last nine years. The Jan Aushadhi Kendras, also known as Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), have played a crucial role in providing affordable and quality generic medicines to the masses.

Mandaviya, while expressing his delight, emphasized the significance of Jan Aushadhi Kendras in making healthcare more accessible and affordable for the common people. These centers provide generic medicines at significantly lower prices compared to their branded counterparts, ensuring that cost is not a barrier to essential healthcare.

The Union Minister further revealed that in the current financial year alone, Jan Aushadhi Kendras have saved an additional amount exceeding Rs 1,962 crore. This impressive figure underscores the continued success and effectiveness of the initiative in delivering cost-effective healthcare solutions to millions of Indians.

The Jan Aushadhi Kendras initiative was launched in 2008 with the aim of providing quality generic medicines at affordable prices to all sections of society.
