In a display of unity and camaraderie within the political spectrum, Dr. S. Jaishankar, India’s External Affairs Minister, has extended warm and heartfelt birthday wishes to Minister of State for Education, Dr. Subhas Sarkar. “I pray for good health and a long life for Minister of State for Education Dr. Subhas Sarkar on his birthday,” said Dr. S. Jaishankar, highlighting the significance of this occasion as a moment to come together beyond the realms of politics.
Born on 25 November 1953, Subhas Sarkar is not just a seasoned politician but also a renowned Indian gynecologist. His foray into politics reached its zenith when he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Bankura, West Bengal, in the 2019 Indian general election, representing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His victory in the electoral battle against a veteran politician and Bengal Minister Subrata Mukherjee of the All India Trinamool Congress marked a significant milestone, securing the trust of the people by a margin of over 1 lakh votes.
Subhas Sarkar’s commitment to public service and his exemplary leadership qualities were further recognized when, on 8 July 2021, he was appointed as the Minister of State for Education during a cabinet reshuffle in the Narendra Modi government. This role positioned him at the forefront of shaping educational policies and contributing to the nation’s growth through the lens of academia.
