The wait is finally over for fans of Ayushmann Khurrana as he reprises his beloved role as Pooja in ‘Dream Girl 2’. Pooja remains one of Ayushmann’s most cherished characters, with the original ‘Dream Girl’ being a massive hit at the domestic box office. Naturally, expectations are soaring for the sequel, which promises to deliver another round of laughter and entertainment. The core cast has been retained, while the addition of Ananya Panday adds a fresh dimension to the film.
Strategic and Effective Promotions
The promotional campaign for ‘Dream Girl 2’ has been nothing short of strategic and effective. The trailer release garnered a positive response, and this enthusiasm is translating into strong advance booking sales. With the bar set high by its predecessor, the sequel’s marketing efforts have managed to captivate the audience’s attention.
Anticipation Builds with Advance Bookings
As of August 24, just a day prior to its release, Dream Girl 2 has managed to sell approximately 26,550 tickets across the top three national multiplex chains, namely PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis. This impressive advance booking figure hints at an opening collection of around Rs 20 crore. While the numbers may be slightly lower than the original Dream Girl, it’s essential to consider the competitive landscape. With ‘OMG 2’ and ‘Gadar 2’ still going strong in their third week, ‘Dream Girl 2’s advance bookings and expected opening collection remain promising.
The Plot Unveiled
‘Dream Girl 2’ follows the story of Karam, a young man from Mathura, struggling to pay off his father’s debts. To make matters more complex, Karam is in love with Pari, whose father has set conditions for their marriage. In a twist of fate, Karam takes on the persona of Pooja, setting the stage for a series of hilarious mishaps and a delightful comedy of errors.
