After a week of anticipation and eager waiting, Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday’s ‘Dream Girl 2’ has completed its first week at the box office. The film, which had audiences buzzing with excitement, has proven to be a worthy successor to its predecessor, ‘Dream Girl,’ released in 2019.
Week One Triumph
‘Dream Girl 2’ hit the big screen on August 25th, and in just one week, it has managed to accumulate a substantial collection of Rs 67 crore. This impressive feat is a testament to the star power and appeal of Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday.
Notably, ‘Dream Girl 2’ faced stiff competition at the box office, clashing with the blockbuster ‘Gadar 2,’ starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel. Despite this head-to-head battle, ‘Dream Girl 2’ has held its ground and continued to draw audiences to theaters.

Taking a closer look at the week’s earnings, ‘Dream Girl 2’ made a promising start, raking in Rs 10.69 crores on its opening day. The film’s momentum continued with Rs 14.02 crore on the second day and Rs 16 crore on the third day. Even on subsequent days, the film maintained its appeal, collecting Rs 5.42 crore on the fourth day, Rs 5.87 crore on the fifth day, and Rs 7.50 crore on both the sixth and seventh days.
The Dream Continues
The original ‘Dream Girl,’ released in 2019, featured Ayushmann Khurrana alongside Nushrat Bharucha and was directed by Raaj Shandilya. The film’s quirky and entertaining storyline struck a chord with audiences, setting high expectations for its sequel.
In ‘Dream Girl 2,’ Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday headline the cast, supported by a talented ensemble that includes Paresh Rawal, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Annu Kapoor, Abhishek Banerjee, and Manjot Singh in pivotal roles.
