On March 3, 2023, President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference in Bhopal. President Murmu spoke about the importance of Indian spirituality and its influence on the world. She noted that the great banyan tree of Indian spirituality has its roots in India, but its branches and vines are spread all over the world.
The President went on to emphasize the need for dialogue and exchange of ideas, especially in the context of global challenges such as climate change and social inequality. She expressed hope that the conference would facilitate such dialogue and contribute to the development of solutions that are grounded in the principles of Dharma and Dhamma.
The theme of the conference is “Dharma Dhamma: Principles and Practices for Sustainable Development.” The conference aims to explore the potential of Dharma and Dhamma to contribute to sustainable development, as well as to promote dialogue and exchange of ideas among scholars, policymakers, and practitioners.
Over 500 delegates from around the world are participating in the conference, including scholars, policymakers, and representatives of civil society organizations. The conference features keynote addresses, plenary sessions, and panel discussions on various aspects of Dharma and Dhamma.
The 7th International Dharma Dhamma Conference is an important platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas on the principles and practices of Dharma and Dhamma. It is an opportunity for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners to come together and explore how these principles can contribute to sustainable development and address the challenges facing the world today.
