In a poignant and emotional address, Stephanie Diller, widow of the late NYPD officer Jonathan Diller, lashes out at New York City for its failure to safeguard the lives of police officers.
“My husband died a hero, but he always lived as one,” Stephanie declares, her voice trembling with emotion. “He consistently prioritized others over himself, readily sacrificing his own needs to assist those in distress and advocating for justice.”
Reflecting on Jonathan Diller’s unwavering commitment to serving and protecting others, Stephanie paints a picture of a devoted husband and a fearless defender of justice. “He was a fierce protector of everyone around him,” she continues. “He spoke his mind & wasn’t afraid.”
Stephanie’s grief is palpable as she questions the city’s accountability and pleads for action: “How many more police officers and how many more families have to make the ultimate sacrifice before we start protecting them?”
The tragic circumstances of Jonathan Diller’s death weigh heavily as Stephanie reveals that he was murdered by a career criminal who had been released from jail a staggering 21 times.
