The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) is all set to organize a unique event titled ‘Divya Kala Mela’ from 12th to 21st March 2023, at Bhopal Haat in Madhya Pradesh. The event aims to showcase the talent, products, and craftsmanship of Divyang entrepreneurs and artisans from across the country.
The event will witness the participation of around 150 Divyang artists and entrepreneurs from 21 states and union territories, who will showcase their products and skills in various categories such as home decor, clothing, stationery, eco-friendly products, packaged food, organic products, toys, gifts, personal accessories, and jewelry. The event will provide an excellent opportunity for visitors to go ‘vocal for local’ and purchase products made by Divyang craftsmen, showcasing their extra determination and talent.
The ‘Divya Kala Mela’ will be open for ten days from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM and will offer visitors a series of cultural activities, including performances by Divyang artists and well-known professionals. Visitors can also relish their favorite foods from various regions of the country.
The event will be inaugurated by the Hon’ble Governor of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Mangu Bhai Patel, on 12th March at 5:00 PM, in the presence of Union Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Dr. Virendra Kumar and MoS Kumari Pratima Bhoumik.
The Department plans to promote this concept and organize the ‘Divya Kala Mela’ every year across the country, making it accessible to a wider audience.
In conclusion, the ‘Divya Kala Mela’ is an excellent opportunity for visitors to witness and appreciate the talent and creativity of Divyang entrepreneurs and artisans from various parts of the country. It is a step towards promoting and supporting local businesses, and it is a significant milestone in promoting the spirit of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Vocal for Local.’
