In a recent report released by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), it has been revealed that several social media accounts are spreading false and misleading information concerning an alleged blast in Bengaluru, just days ahead of the highly anticipated #PAKvAUS cricket match in the 2023 Cricket World Cup. The PIB has categorically labeled these claims as #FAKE.

One individual named Wajahat Kazmi shared a video on his Twitter account, claiming, “Blast in Bangalore. And they say India is safe. Pakistan must raise security concerns for the cricket team which is currently in this city and has their match against Australia on Friday.”

However, upon careful investigation, it has been determined that the images shared by Kazmi are, in fact, from a fire incident that occurred in a cafe in the Koramangala area of Bengalore. This incident is entirely unrelated to any blast or security concerns associated with the #PAKvAUS cricket match.

In response to these misleading claims, the PIB report highlights the importance of responsible and fact-based social media usage. It underscores the need for individuals to verify the authenticity of information before sharing it and to rely on credible news sources for accurate updates.

As the cricketing world eagerly awaits the epic showdown, it is crucial for all individuals to prioritize the responsible use of social media and ensure that only accurate information is shared to avoid any unnecessary alarm or confusion.
