Huma Qureshi, known for her versatile acting skills, is set to play the role of the famous chef Tarla Dalal in the much-anticipated biopic ‘Tarla.’ Interestingly, She hails from a family with a strong passion for food and drink. Her father, who opened the renowned restaurant ‘Salim’ in 1977, is renowned for his delectable non-vegetarian dishes.
An Inspired Creation: ‘Batata Musallam’
Drawing inspiration from the upcoming biopic, Huma’s father has introduced a new special veg dish called ‘Batata Musallam’ at ‘Salim.’ This dish showcases the blend of flavors and creativity, paying homage to Tarla Dalal’s culinary journey.
A Tribute to Tarla Dalal’s Veg Creations
Tarla Dalal, renowned for her expertise in transforming popular non-vegetarian dishes into vegetarian delights, left an indelible mark on Indian cuisine. One of her famous creations was ‘Batata Musallam,’ a vegetarian version of Murgh Musallam. While the gravy remained the same, Tarla Dalal added potatoes instead of chicken to create this flavorful dish. Huma Qureshi, while promoting the film in Delhi, visited her father’s restaurant along with co-star Sharib Hashmi to relish the delicious Batata Musallam.
