The Central Water Commission has issued a flood alert for Bihar, particularly in the Muzaffarpur district, as River Bagmati at Benibad maintains a severe situation. The official flood forecast indicates that the river is flowing at a level of 48.97 meters, which is 0.29 meters above its danger level of 48.68 meters.
The ongoing severe situation along the River Bagmati in Bihar demands vigilance and preparedness from local authorities and residents. The river’s water level remains a cause for concern, even as it shows a falling trend. Continuous monitoring and timely updates are essential to ensure the safety and well-being of those residing in the affected areas.
“Elevated water levels in River Bagmati can lead to various adverse consequences, including the inundation of low-lying areas, damage to crops, and potential threats to property and lives. Residents are advised to stay informed about the situation and follow safety guidelines issued by local authorities”.
“During such flood alerts, it is crucial for residents to take precautions and be prepared for any emergency situations that may arise due to rising water levels. Cooperation with local authorities and adherence to evacuation orders, if necessary, are essential to minimize risks and ensure safety”.
