Jharkhand, India – August 16, 2023: The Central Water Commission (CWC) has issued a concerning flood forecast, indicating a severe flooding situation along the River Ganga at Sahibganj in the Sahebganj district of Jharkhand. According to the latest data, the river continues to flow at a critical level of 27.5 meters, maintaining a steady trend.
This reported water level is 0.25 meters above the river’s danger level of 27.25 meters, warranting heightened vigilance and precautionary measures. The Central Water Commission’s continuous monitoring and prompt updates serve as vital tools for local authorities and communities to take proactive steps in mitigating potential risks and ensuring the safety of residents.
As the River Ganga remains in a severe flooding situation, the CWC’s flood forecast holds significant importance in guiding authorities’ decisions and response efforts. The situation underscores the dynamic nature of water bodies and the importance of robust flood management strategies.
