Former Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, made headlines on Wednesday as he resigned from his position as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Karnal. In a significant move, he recommended Nayab Singh Saini, the newly appointed Chief Minister, as his successor to contest the election from the Karnal constituency.

Earlier today, Nayab Singh Saini, during a special session of the state assembly, expressed his gratitude towards his predecessor, Manohar Lal Khattar, for the transformative initiatives undertaken during his nine-year tenure as Chief Minister of Haryana.

Moving a motion to seek a vote of confidence, Saini reflected on his journey from being a member of the assembly during 2014 to 2019 to assuming the role of Chief Minister. He highlighted his humble beginnings and credited the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for elevating him from an ordinary worker to the state unit president and ultimately, the Chief Minister.

Praising Khattar’s leadership, Saini acknowledged the exemplary governance model established in Haryana under Khattar’s stewardship. He commended the former Chief Minister’s dedication to public service and his efforts to ensure transparency and efficiency in governance.

Describing Khattar as a “tapasvi” (ascetic), Saini lauded his commitment to uplifting the weaker sections of society and ensuring the delivery of government services to the doorsteps of citizens. He emphasized Khattar’s role in strengthening Haryana and creating opportunities for the state’s underprivileged communities.

Expressing gratitude to the BJP leadership for entrusting him with the responsibility of Chief Minister, Saini reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the party’s principles and serving the people of Haryana diligently.
