Goa CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Mourns the Passing of Former MLA Dr. Anil Prabhudesai.

In a Sorrow message, Goa’s Chief Minister, Dr. Pramod Sawant, expressed his sorrow at the passing of former MLA Dr. Anil Prabhudesai, saying, “Saddened by the demise of Ex MLA of Curchorem Dr. Anil Prabhudesai.” He went on to offer his deepest condolences to the bereaved family and invoked a blessing, saying, “May God bestow Sadgati on the departed soul. Om Shanti.”

Dr. Anil Prabhudesai, a respected figure in Goan politics, passed away after a brief illness at his residence in Curchorem on a Sunday evening. He had been elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in 1972, representing the Curchorem constituency on the ticket of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP). Dr. Prabhudesai’s contributions to the political landscape of Goa were significant, and he was known for his dedication to public service.

“Former Union Minister Ramakant Khalap and Congress President Amit Patkar also expressed their condolences upon hearing of Dr. Prabhudesai’s demise”. Khalap, who had worked alongside Dr. Prabhudesai during their time in the third Legislative Assembly of Goa, Daman, and Diu, fondly recalled their shared experiences. He remarked, “Dr. Prabhudesai’s active participation in Assembly debates stands as a testament to his unwavering dedication to his responsibilities and the well-being of his constituents and the people of Goa. His service was marked by genuine selflessness and heartfelt devotion to his community.”
