August 13 marks the birth anniversary of the legendary Bollywood actress, Sridevi, who left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. In a heartfelt tribute, Google Doodle unveiled a captivating illustration of the iconic actress on Sunday, celebrating her remarkable journey and enduring legacy.
Sridevi’s illustrious career began at the tender age of four, captivating audiences for over four decades with her versatile performances. From her early role in the Tamil movie “Kandhan Karunai” to her final appearance in the 2017 film “Mom,” Sridevi’s cinematic journey has left an indomitable impact.
Google highlighted Sridevi’s linguistic prowess, as she effortlessly embraced multiple South Indian languages, transcending regional boundaries and making her a prominent figure in various film industries. Her breakthrough in Bollywood came with the action comedy “Himmatwala,” propelling her to national icon status and establishing her as a box-office phenomenon.
Undeterred by gender norms, Sridevi shattered glass ceilings and headlined blockbuster movies like ‘Sadma’ and ‘Chaalbaaz,’ a feat rarely achieved by actresses in the traditionally male-dominated Bollywood landscape.
