In a heartfelt tribute to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on the occasion of its foundation day, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal expressed profound admiration for the valor and unwavering commitment demonstrated by CISF personnel in safeguarding the nation’s vital assets.

“On the foundation day of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which is always ready to serve the nation, I salute all the CISF personnel for their bravery and devotion to duty,” stated Chief Minister Manohar Lal.

He went on to highlight the commendable role played by the CISF in ensuring the security of critical establishments throughout the country. Established under an act of Parliament on 10th March 1969, with an initial strength of approximately 2,800 personnel, the CISF was originally tasked with the protection and security of industrial undertakings under central government ownership. Over the years, its mandate has evolved to encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, reflecting the changing security landscape of the nation.

Initially limited to providing protection exclusively to industries wholly owned by the central government, the scope of CISF’s duties has since been expanded to include joint ventures with the central government. This modification has allowed the CISF to extend its protective umbrella to a wider array of industrial and infrastructural assets critical to national security.

Beyond its industrial security duties, the CISF has diversified its portfolio to encompass the protection of airports, seaports, metro rail networks, government buildings, and heritage monuments, including iconic landmarks such as the Taj Mahal and Red Fort. Additionally, the CISF plays a pivotal role in safeguarding opium and alkaloid extractions, nuclear power plants, space installations, and other sensitive facilities vital to the nation’s interests.

Chief Minister Manohar Lal’s tribute underscores the indispensable contributions of CISF personnel in upholding the security and integrity of the nation’s critical assets. Their unwavering dedication and selfless service exemplify the ethos of duty and sacrifice, earning them the gratitude and respect of the entire nation. On this momentous occasion, the nation joins in honoring the valor and commitment of the CISF, reaffirming its unwavering support for its noble mission of safeguarding the nation.
