The 41st Steering Committee Meeting of the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE) is currently underway in New Delhi, India. Hosted from March 18 to 22, 2024, the event resumed its formal proceedings at Sushma Swaraj Bhawan on March 20, 2024.

Delegates from IPHE participating countries such as Austria, Chile, France, Japan, and the United States, among others, provided updates on their respective research and development initiatives, highlighting key policy developments and government efforts in the realm of hydrogen.

Discussions centered on national strategies for clean hydrogen, R&D endeavors encompassing production, storage, and transportation, as well as infrastructure development and workforce upskilling. Deliberations also encompassed business models, international collaborations, regulatory frameworks, and the establishment of dedicated hydrogen infrastructure and markets.

The committee reviewed actions from its previous meeting and deliberated on expanding IPHE membership to encourage broader international participation, especially from countries in the Global South. Additionally, plans were made for the European Commission to host the 42nd Steering Committee Meeting during European Hydrogen Week in November.

Emphasizing the urgency of the transition to green hydrogen, the Committee Chair urged stakeholders to adopt decisive measures to accelerate its deployment across various sectors of the economy. The discussions underscored the collective commitment to fostering a robust hydrogen economy for a sustainable future.
