The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a significant weather advisory for Chhattisgarh, cautioning residents and authorities about the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall on August 18. The alert, classified as an Orange Alert, underscores the potential for substantial precipitation and highlights the importance of preparedness.
Chhattisgarh is expected to experience intensified rainfall with amounts ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm on the specified date. The IMD’s alert serves as a reminder for individuals, communities, and local administrations to stay vigilant and take necessary steps to ensure the safety of lives and property.
“Heavy rainfall can lead to localized flooding, waterlogging, and other weather-related challenges. The issuance of an Orange Alert by the IMD signifies a proactive approach to empowering residents with crucial information, enabling them to make informed decisions and implement preventive measures”.
