IMD Reports Isolated Heavy Rainfall in Punjab, Goa, and Kerala.

As per the latest observations by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), several areas in Punjab experienced isolated heavy rainfall during the period from 08:30 to 02:30 hours IST on 5th July 2023. The rainfall data for selected locations in Punjab are as follows:

  • Ludhiana: 101 mm
  • Shahid Bhagat Singh Nagar: 80 mm
  • Sangrur: 65.5 mm

These significant rainfall figures indicate the intensity of the weather system in the region.

Rainfall Data Recorded in Goa and Kerala

Apart from Punjab, the IMD also reported isolated heavy rainfall in Goa and Kerala during the same time period. The rainfall data for selected locations in these regions are as follows:

  • Kannur (Kerala): 53 mm
  • Marmugoa (Goa): 66 mm
  • Goa: 57 mm
  • Mangalore (Coastal Karnataka): 56 mm

These rainfall observations highlight the varying intensities of precipitation experienced in different areas, emphasizing the importance of accurate weather forecasting for local communities.
