The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heat wave advisory for specific areas in Jharkhand and Bihar, cautioning residents about the likelihood of extreme heat conditions during the specified period from April 20th to April 24th, 2024.
According to the IMD forecast, isolated pockets of Jharkhand are expected to experience heat wave conditions from April 20th to April 22nd. Similarly, in Bihar, heat wave conditions are anticipated to prevail from April 20th to April 24th.
The IMD’s warning serves as a vital alert for residents in the affected regions to take necessary precautions to safeguard themselves from the adverse effects of extreme heat. Heat waves can pose significant health risks, including heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke and dehydration, particularly among vulnerable populations.
Residents are advised to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, avoid outdoor activities during peak sun hours, and seek shelter in cool, shaded areas whenever possible. Additionally, individuals are urged to wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing and use fans or air conditioning to stay cool.
By heeding the IMD’s heat wave advisory and taking proactive steps to protect themselves and their families, residents of Jharkhand and Bihar can minimize the risks associated with extreme heat and ensure their well-being during the forecasted period.
