The Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, has directed the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to send two teams consisting of 101 personnel to Turkey in response to the massive earthquakes that devastated the country on February 6th, 2023. The NDRF teams, along with specially trained dog squads and all necessary equipment, have been sent to Turkey via special Indian Air Force flights to carry out search and rescue operations in affected areas.
The NDRF contingent is led by Commandant Shri Gurminder Singh, who is accompanied by doctors and paramedics to provide necessary assistance. The teams are equipped with state-of-the-art search and rescue equipment and personal safety equipment, ensuring that they are self-sufficient in all respects. The NDRF team will work with local authorities in Turkey to provide relief and carry out rescue operations.
The Government of India is committed to providing all necessary assistance to the Government of Turkey in this crisis situation. The efforts of the NDRF teams, led by Commandant Shri Gurminder Singh, demonstrate India’s dedication to providing support and aid in times of need. The mission is in line with the vision of the Honorable Prime Minister of India to provide support and assistance in crisis situations.
