While Siraj was wreaking havoc with the ball, Hardik Pandya played a pivotal role in containing Sri Lanka’s batting order. His accurate and disciplined bowling ensured that Sri Lanka’s lower-order batsmen couldn’t muster many runs. His contribution added immense pressure on the Sri Lankan team, leading to their eventual downfall.

Chasing a modest total of 50 runs, India’s opening batsmen, Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill, took to the crease confidently. Shubman Gill, already the top scorer in the tournament, continued his splendid form, while young Ishan Kishan played with composure beyond his years. Together, they achieved the target with ease, securing India’s eighth Asia Cup trophy, ending a five-year drought since their last triumph.
