In a World Championships largely bereft of Indian recurve archery success, the country found reason to celebrate as the Indian women’s compound archery team secured a historic gold medal at the 2023 Berlin World Archery Championships. The trio comprising Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur etched their names in history by clinching the gold medal, elevating India’s status on the global archery stage. The path to victory was paved with dedication and resilience. The experienced Jyothi Surekha Vennam, who had previously secured silver and bronze medals at the World Championships, anchored the team. Accompanying her were two exceptional young talents: the 17-year-old Aditi Swami, who recently clinched the Under-18 compound world championship, and 18-year-old Parneet Kaur, a bronze medalist in the Asia Cup.
